My Experience
Politicide was a great learning experience for me, this was my first experience developing for mobile and being thrust into Lead programmer while learning mobile development on the fly was a big challenge. On top of learning on the fly, Politicide kept running into roadblocks like antiquated code, a Unity version that didn't support AABs and an update to the App store app requirements which kept delaying our launch. These challenges and roadblocks tested my skills as a developer and how quickly I could grasp new concepts. Additionally our team had to transition to remote work due to the Corona virus quarantine. The transition to remote work went fairly smooth, our communication and meetings switched easily to being online only and we experienced only minor problems during the transition like lack access to the Mac used for IOS builds which was very quickly remedied through the use of team viewer. Politicide has been a challenging project due to issues with its code base and the need to update it multiple times, despite the frustrations and struggles I've had working on the game I'm glad that I was challenged by this project and through debugging and updating the game I have come out of this project more knowledgeable about unity, mobile development and the importance of a solid code base.
